I'm a bridesmaid in my good friends wedding and she is having 2 bridal showers...
The Bridal party is throwing one "a personal shower" with alot of her young friends! So the 4 of us are spending the money to throw this shower for the bride!

The 2nd one is being thrown by a family friend "a bridal shower tea" very proper...
Well am I supposed to buy a gift for the bride and groom at the "bridal shower tea" , or just a wedding gift?

My friend is getting married and I was invited to her "Personal Shower" and I'm wondering how this differs from a bridal shower? What kind of gifts are usually brought to this type of event? Kitchen items, lingerie? Please help! thanks

I would ask whoever sent the invite what that means. I've never been invited to a "personal shower" so I really have no idea what that exactly means! Does sound almost dirty though, like sex toys and lingerie.

Find out a few heartfelt ideas to give a bride to be for her bridal shower or wedding gift. An idea I forgot to talk about is to give them 3 old black and white movies like "You can't take it with you" with James Stewart or "Roman Holiday" with Audrey Hepburn etc. and a few popcorn buckets with a jar of popcorn to pop. Also it is a great idea to include a book on marriage. I recommend "The Proper Care and Feeding of Marriage"

I have been invitied to a Bridal Shower and the theme of the shower is "The Alphabet Shower" I have the letter "A". Does anyone have any wonderful gift ideas that start with the letter "A" for a bridal shower?

Well, if you really can't find anything, you could always buy anything you want and just called it "A Coffee Pot." Or whatever.

Question by Lovin29: Do you buy a gift for the bridal shower AND the wedding?
I know I should know this, because I have been to many weddings....but typically if I go to a pre-party, it's a bachellorette party- not a "bridal shower".
Went to my first one a couple of weeks ago and did buy from the couple's registry. Now the wedding is coming up...and I have no idea whether I'm supposed to buy another present or not. I'm not financially free to do this...but do NOT want to be rude.

What is expected and appropriate?

don't buy them shit. Buy your self something nice instead, and then show it off at the bridal shower AND the wedding.
